Uwan leaves parts of Bay, Laguna flooded

Several parts of the town of Bay in Laguna were flooded due to heavy rains brought by Typhoon Uwan on Monday.

According to Oscar Oida’s report in Super Radyo dzBB, some areas in Barangay San Antonio remain submerged in floodwaters. Even before Typhoon Uwan wreaked havoc, the area was already flooded after the water level of Laguna de Bay never receded.

Meanwhile, the flood in  Barangay Calo has already subsided but residents were left with muddy roads.

As of 10 a.m., Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong) continued to weaken as it moved farther over the West Philippine Sea on Monday morning.

The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by late Monday night or early Tuesday morning, but could re-enter by Wednesday evening as it moves toward Taiwan, said PAGASA. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
