Typhoon Uwan worsens floods caused by Tino in San Pablo City, Laguna
It may take up to two weeks for the floods in some areas in the City of San Pablo, Laguna to subside after Typhoon Uwan worsened the previous floods caused by Typhoon Tino.
According to Nico Waje’s report on “Saksi” on Monday night, residents did not expect the high floodwaters to hit Purok Uno, Barangay San Nicolas.
Disaster responders conducted rescue operations earlier on Monday. They were also surprised at the extent of the flood.
John Raffy Diones, a barangay councilor, said the floods came down from Barangays San Crispin and San Juan.
About 14 families from Barangay San Nicholas are staying in evacuation centers.
In Barangay Calo in Bay, Laguna, residents were busy cleaning the streets covered with mud after the floods subsided.
A resident said it may take three days before the streets are thoroughly cleared of mud and debris.
Residents in Barangay San Antonio in Bay are also suffering from floods that have not yet receded since Tino dumped rains in the area.
