Iloilo fire causes over P1.7M in damage

A fire that broke out in several facilities in Guimbal, Iloilo, has caused over P1.7 million in damage, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection.

The blaze in Barangay Nanga destroyed a classroom, a daycare center, and a barangay hall stockroom, according to Sevein Hope Gegantoca’s Tuesday report on Super Radyo DZBB.

The Guimbal fire station said the blaze started in a Grade 6 classroom before spreading to the other two facilities. The classroom and daycare center were completely burned.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, which may have been an electrical fault.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/MCG, GMA Integrated News
