Cebu provincial gov't lifts suspension of classes
The Cebu provincial government has lifted the suspension of classes in all levels, following the recommendation of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).
Through Executive Order 72, Series of 2025, Governor Pamela Baricuatro ordered the official resumption of classes in all public schools in the province of Cebu, according to a post on Cebu Province Facebook page.
"Gov. Baricuatro explained that the move was based on the advisory of DepEd Cebu Province and the assessment of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, together with PAGASA and local disaster councils," the post read.

The DepEd has emphasized the importance of the immediate resumption of classes to "prevent further disruption of the academic calendar and ensure the continuity of learning, especially after several days of suspension."
"Gov. Baricuatro further reminded local chief executives that class suspensions may still be declared at their discretion, depending on localized on-ground conditions, in coordination with their respective Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs)," the post added. — GMA Regional TV
