Magnitude 5.7 earthquake hits offshore Davao Occidental

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake was recorded to have occurred in the waters of Davao Occidental on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The earthquake occurred at 1:33 p.m., according to PHIVOLCS.
Its epicenter was located at 03.62°N, 127.08°E - 270 km S 43° E of Balut Island in the Municipality of Sarangani in Davao Occidental.
The quake had a depth of 10 km and was tectonic in origin.
No damage is expected but aftershocks may occur, PHIVOLCS said. —KG, GMA Integrated News
