BARMM's 8th most wanted nabbed
The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has arrested a college dean in connection with the alleged murder of a barangay captain and a village council member in Maguindanao del Sur province.
According to a statement on Sunday, the CODG said the arrest warrant was implemented on alias “Sarip,” said to be the 8th most wanted person in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), in Barangay Magaslong on Thursday.
Sarip and 21 other co-accused allegedly carried out an explosion targeting barangay officials at an uninhabited farmland in Sitio Patawali, Barangay Ganta, Sharif Saydona, Maguindanao del Sur on August 16.
The blast killed Barangay Captain Jun Silongan and seriously injured Barangay Kagawad Salik Katua and eight others.
Katua later succumbed to his injuries.
