Newborn allegedly taken by fake nurse from Koronadal hospital

A newborn girl was allegedly abducted from a hospital in Koronadal City by a woman who pretended to be a nurse.

The baby’s father took to social media to express his concern after his baby was taken by the suspect morning on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The 23-year-old father is a member of an indigenous group.

According to the Police Regional Office-SOCCSKSARGEN (PRO-12), the father said the baby was taken two days after she was born.

The suspect reportedly introduced herself as a nurse checking the baby’s health.

Police operatives found an eco-bag containing the baby’s belongings in Barangay Avanceña during hot pursuit. It was allegedly left behind by the suspect.

Authorities are pursuing the suspect, as of this writing. She may face charges for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

Police are also investigating the hospital’s security protocols to determine how the suspect managed to enter the facility and carry out the alleged abduction.
