P2-M reward offered vs perpetrators in Digos barangay captain slay — police

The Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office on Wednesday said a total of P2 million are being offered to those who have information that will lead to the capture of the perpetrators behind the fatal shooting of a barangay captain in Digos City.

Police Captain Sheila May Pansoy, spokesperson of Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office, told GMA News Online that P1 million came from Vice President Sara Duterte. 

Meanwhile, Governor Yvonne Cagas committed P500,000 for information that will lead to the arrest of the gunman and another P500,000 for the mastermind.

“P1 million, VP Sara. P500,000 from governor for gunman. P500,000 from governor for mastermind,” Pansoy said in a message.

According to Pansoy, persons of interest have been identified. 

GMA News Online has asked the police official on the number of the persons of interest, their identities, and their possible motives. However, she has yet to respond as of posting time.

Barangay Tres de Mayo Captain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol Jr. was shot dead while he was going live on Facebook Tuesday evening, according to the provincial police on Wednesday. 

“At around 9:00 PM on November 25, 2025, the victim was fatally shot within the premises of his residence, specifically in his garage,” the Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office said in a statement. 

“Portions of the incident were captured during his ongoing Facebook Live broadcast,” it added

Possible persons of interest have been identified based on individuals previously mentioned by the victim in his earlier social media posts, the police said. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
