Anti-corruption protest held in Davao City, too
Groups marched around Freedom Park along Roxas Avenue in Davao City—the bailiwick of the Duterte family—on Sunday as they joined nationwide protests against corruption.
According to a report by GMA Regional TV’s Jandi Esteban, some demonstrators wore shirts smeared with mud to symbolize victims of calamities allegedly worsened by anomalous flood control projects.
A spokesperson for the Stop Corruption Alliance told GMA Regional TV that the investigation into the flood control controversy has been moving slowly.
Protesters in Davao also called for accountability from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, referring to them as the “king and queen of corruption,” according to the report.
