Three Luzon dams' gates still open to release water —PAGASA
Three dams in Luzon still had one gate open each on Monday, same as on Sunday, to release water, data from PAGASA showed.
Ambuklao Dam in Benguet had one gate open at 0.3 meters, discharging water at 59.47 cubic meters per second (cms).
At 8 a.m., Ambuklao Dam's reservoir water level (RWL) was at 751.22 m, near its 752-m spilling level or normal high water level (NHWL).
Binga Dam, also located in Benguet, likewise had one gate open at 8 a.m. at 0.3 m, discharging 51.36 cms of water.
The dam's RWL was at 574.60 m at 8 a.m., very near the 575-m NHWL.
Meanwhile, Magat Dam straddling the provinces of Ifugao and Isabela, had one gate open at 1.0 m, with water discharge at 248.83 cms.
Its RWL was at 189.94 m at 8 a.m., while its NHWL is at 193 m.
Angat and Ipo dams in Bulacan had three gates open on Sunday, but these were already closed on Monday morning.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is affecting extreme Northern Luzon on Monday, PAGASA said.
The rest of Luzon meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the easterlies. —KG, GMA Integrated News
