Man shoots woman dead who allegedly offered him illegal drugs

A man shot a woman dead in Antipolo City on early Wednesday after she allegedly offered him illegal drugs. 

According to Tina Panganiban-Perez’s report in “24 Oras”, CCTV footage showed the unsuspecting female victim being followed by the male suspect in Barangay Cupang at almost 1 a.m. When he got near the victim, he pulled out a pistol and shot her at the nape. 

The woman died on the spot. 

The suspect told police he declined the offer to buy illegal drugs from the victim. He claimed the victim did not take the rejection too well and cursed at him. 

“Tumanggi po ang suspect na bumili ng drugs. Kaya ang ginawa nito ni victim, yung babae, is pinagmumura po itong si suspect,” said Antipolo CCPS spokesperson Police Lt. Ken Ladyong Ada-Ol. 

(The suspect refused to buy drugs. So the female victim cursed at him.) 

This prompted the suspect to lose his temper and went back to his house to get a gun. 

The police recovered the improvised gun used by the suspect near the crime scene. 

Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested after he was identified through CCTV footage and some witnesses. 

The suspect admitted to his crimes. 

“Ako naman po talaga bumaril doon. Nagi-inom po kami diyan sa amin tapos inalukan po ako ng drugs. Nabigla lang po talaga ako. Pasensya na po kayo sa nagawa ko, patawad po,” he said behind bars. 

(I was really the one who shot her. We were drinking there and she suddenly offered me drugs. I was just really shocked. I apologize for what I did, please forgive me.

Aside from a murder charge, police said the suspects also has an arrest warrant for robbery. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
