Teenage siblings nabbed for online child exploitation in Davao Oriental
Authorities nabbed two teenage siblings for allegedly offering fellow minors to online sexual exploitation in Davao Oriental.
According to Marisol Abdurahman’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Tuesday, the 16-year-old and 18-year-old suspects were nabbed while engaging in online sexual exploitation with victims aged nine to 14 years old in their house.
Authorities rescued seven minors, one 18-year-old person. Three children aged one to four years old, who are considered children at risk, were brought in by social workers.
The Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) said the suspects were directing the victim to perform sexual acts while taking videos, livestreaming, and taking photos.
The suspects were tracked down when the authorities conducted ground surveillance based on a referral from Australian authorities.
Another suspect was later arrested in connection with the operation.
Based on PNP-WCPC’s investigation, the suspects earn P100 to P1,000.
They told their parents their income comes from online gaming.
The amount sent to the suspects reached P385,000 since they became involved in online sexual exploitation, according to investigators.
The suspects have yet to comment on the matter.
They are facing charges, including online sexual abuse or exploitation of children. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
