Masseuse strangled to death by ex-partner in Roxas City, Capiz

An 18-year-old woman working as a massage therapist was strangled to death by her former partner in Roxas City, Capiz.

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Kim Salinas in “Saksi” on Wednesday, the victim was found unconscious inside the comfort room of an inn last December 9. She was brought to the hospital, but she died.

The police said it was the inn’s cashier who reported the incident to the authorities. They also said the CCTV footage showed the victim was with the 23-year-old suspect.

“He saw the victim lying on the floor near the faucet in the CR. The suspect checked in at 10:15 pm. Then at 10:21 pm, he entered the room. At 10:33 pm, the victim also arrived at the said room. Then at 10:56 pm, the man came out of the room,” said Roxas City Police chief P/Lt. Col. Ricardo Jomuad, Jr.

With the help of the Aviation Security Group, the Roxas City Police was able to arrest the suspect.

The suspect admitted to strangling the victim and has long planned to kill her, the report said.

Further, the suspect used a dummy account online to reach out to the victim for a massage session.

The suspect killed the victim because he had a hard time accepting that they had broken up after three years.

“There’s no jealousy here but it’s about having deep unsettled bitterness or hate that they are no longer together. According to the manager, the victim shared about receiving a threat,” said Jomuad.

The police also said the suspect took poison after committing the crime. He is now under hospital arrest, the report added.

During the conduct of an autopsy of the victim’s body, the police will also check if she was also poisoned after black powder was recovered from the crime scene.

The police also said the victim’s family is open to filing cases against the suspect. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BAP, GMA Integrated News
