17 cops relieved for Christmas party drinks while on duty
Seventeen police officers assigned to a police station in Eastern Samar – or half of its personnel – have been relieved from their posts for allegedly taking part in a drinking session at their office while on duty.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Analoza Catilogo-Armeza of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Regional Public Information Office in Eastern Visayas said the relieved cops allegedly drank alcohol during their Christmas party at the Dolores Municipal Station.
A photo of the alleged drinking session went viral on social media.
Catilogo-Armeza said drinking liquor inside the police station is prohibited.
The 17 relieved personnel included the Dolores Municipal Station’s chief of police, as well as a non-uniformed personnel (NUP).
Catilogo-Armeza added that there will be a reassignment of personnel after the relief of half of the police station’s personnel. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
