Caraga workers, kasambahays to get wage hike in Jan. 2026


The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in the Caraga region has approved an increase in the daily minimum wage of workers in the private sector and kasambahays (domestic workers) starting January 2026.

The RTWPB Region 13 issued two wage orders on December 9 covering the wage hikes for the two sectors.

According to Wage Order No. RXIII-20, workers in the private sector in the Caraga were granted a P40 increase in the daily minimum wage, to be given in two tranches next year.

The salary hike will cover employees in non-agriculture, agriculture, service/retail and manufacturing sector.

The first tranche of P20 will take effect on Jan. 3, 2026, bringing the daily minimum wage to P455 from the current P435.

The second tranche worth P20 will be given on May 1, 2026, bringing the daily minimum wage to P475.

Meanwhile, Wage Order No. RXIII-DW-06 increased the monthly minimum wage of kasambahays in the Caraga region to P6,500, effective Jan. 3, 2026. This means a P500 increase from the current monthly minimum salary of P6,000.

Both wage hike orders will take effect in the cities of Bayugan, Bislig, Butuan, Cabadbaran, Surigao, Tandag and the provinces of Dinagat Island, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
