Palace says Davao City Coastal Bypass Road Segment B now opened to public

Malacañang announced on Friday that the Davao City Coastal Bypass Road Segment B has officially been opened to the public, with the aim to offer faster and safer travel for motorists.

During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had ordered the safety of motorists using the bypass road.

She said this would reduce travel time from more than an hour to only 20 to 25 minutes.

“Davao City Coastal Bypass Road bukas na sa publiko kaninang ala sais ng umaga. Ito’y matapos ipag-utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga motoristang gagamit ng nasabing bypass road,” Castro said.

The Palace official said the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has assured the President that the road is safe for public use, citing completed safety measures and coordination with the local government to ensure the full and effective utilization of the newly opened bypass road.

Segment B includes the Bucana Bridge, which connects Times Beach to the central area of Barangay 76-A, Bucana.

The bridge was built using funds from a China aid grant and was constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
