Man hurt after drunken brawl in Iloilo City

A man sustained injuries after two groups engaged in a brawl in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, on Sunday.

According to Kim Salinas’s report on 24 Oras on Monday, CCTV footage showed several men attacking the 21-year-old victim in Barangay San Rafael past 4 a.m.

The two groups had previously argued in a bar and were initially pacified, but they later clashed again outside the establishment.

The victim suffered wounds on his neck and hands and is currently under observation in the hospital. An ambulance was called after he complained of having difficulty breathing.

Iloilo City police said those involved were sent home after making peace, unaware that one group would start another fight. Authorities also noted that the individuals were intoxicated.

Meanwhile, five people have been arrested, including one of the two suspects who stabbed the victim. Police recovered the knife used in the attack and are still searching for the other suspect.

The victim’s family said they are ready to file charges of homicide and physical injury against the suspects.
