Visitors enjoy cool Christmas as Baguio's temperature drops to 15°C
The seasonal chill has descended upon Baguio City, greeting visitors with a cool 15°C on Christmas Eve.
According to a "24 Oras" report by Sendee Salvacio of One North Central Luzon, vehicles queue as early as 7 a.m. along Camp One in Tuba, Benguet to reach the summer capital in time for Christmas Day.
Some choose to make a stopover at the Lion's Head along Kennon Road for quick photo shots.
Burnham Park remains the top spot where tourists flock, even as some of its nearby attractions like the Burnham Lake, Sunshine Park and Igorot Park are closed for renovation.
Some visitors do not mind braving the traffic, especially those who are going to the City of Pines for the first time.
The local government is currently enforcing Oplan Bantay Trapiko to manage the influx of vehicles in major roads.
According to Police Major Marcy Grace Marron of the Baguio City Police Office, cops are watching over major churches, tourist spots, terminals and other crowded areas to ensure the safety and security of tourists.
Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong appealed to tourists to keep the city clean, saying residents have gotten used to disposing of their trash in the right places. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
