The PNP said personnel of the San Vicente Municipal Police Station (MPS) responded to a report about suspicious packages discovered along the coastal area of Danlog, Sitio Gawid, Barangay Caruray at around 8:22 a.m. on December 26, 2025.
The items were discovered by a group of youth while swimming in the area.
Following verification, police personnel recovered 31 vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packs of suspected marijuana kush, weighing approximately 21.97 kilograms, with a standard drug price of ?26,364,000.
The illegal drugs recovered were secured at the police station and will be submitted to the Palawan Forensic Unit for laboratory examination and proper disposition.
“This operation shows how vigilance and immediate police action can stop illegal drugs before they reach our communities,” said PNP Acting Chief Police Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
The PNP said the effort demonstrates the agency’s firm action against illegal drugs through timely response and sustained police presence, especially in vulnerable coastal areas often exploited by drug syndicates.
“Recoveries like this send a clear message that illegal drugs have no place in our country… Patuloy kaming kikilos upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan ng mamamayan laban sa banta ng ilegal na droga (We will continue to act to maintain the safety of the people against the threat of illegal drugs),” Nartatez said. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
