LTO issues show cause order vs driver in viral Baguio road rage incident
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show cause order (SCO) against a driver who was caught in a viral video that allegedly showed him become aggressive at a parking attendant in Baguio City.
According to the LTO, the SCO requires the driver of the Toyota Fortuner involved in the viral social media post to face the Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) on January 8, 2026 and to submit a sworn statement explaining why he should not be filed with administrative cases and be declared an improper person to operate a motor vehicle following the incident.
The LTO said an initial investigation into the incident showed the driver of the SUV allegedly acted aggressively towards the parking attendant, an act the agency said, has "brought danger to the latter and violated the expected conduct of a responsible motorist".
The LTO likewise suspended his driver's license for 90 days and placed the motor vehicle under alarm status.
(This is yet another reminder that everyone must avoid losing their temper on the road. Streets are public spaces where the safety of all should be upheld—they are not places for anger or aggressive behavior.)
(A driver’s license is a privilege, not a right. Anyone proven incapable of driving with discipline, respect, and accountability may lose this privilege at any time. The LTO is determined to maintain order and safety on our roads.) — Sundy Locus/RF, GMA Integrated News
