PPA logs 4.5M seaport passengers amid holidays

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on Tuesday logged 4.5 million seaport passengers from December 15 to 30.

Speaking to Super Radyo dzBB, PPA spokesperson Eunice Samonte said the recent number is higher compared to the same period in previous years.

PPA expects the number of passengers this year to exceed the projected 4.6 million.

Samonte urged passengers to report scalpers, rather than engaging in transactions with them, as they offer overpriced and counterfeit tickets.

Reminders were also reminded to avoid bringing prohibited items into ports, including alcoholic beverages and firecrackers. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
