Alleged rocket debris recovered by fisherfolk in waters off Sulu
An alleged rocket debris has been recovered by fisherfolk in the vicinity waters off Pangutaran, Sulu, according to a social media post of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Saturday.
The PCG cited information from the Pangutaran Municipal Police Station, which said that the alleged rocket debris was recovered and towed last December 30 in Barangay Suang Bunah.
“The recovered debris is currently under the custody of Barangay Suang Bunah,” the Coast Guard Sub-Station Pangutaran said.
The PCG said the Coast Guard Station Western Sulu is currently coordinating with the barangay for the possible transfer of the recovered debris’ custody to the agency for proper handling and disposition.
The PCG reminded the public to stay vigilant and report any unusual objects sighted at sea to ensure public safety. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
