Sunlight Air plane's tire deflates in Siquijor — CAAP

Passengers and crew of a Sunlight Air flight were unhurt following a mishap on the aircraft when one of its tires failed during landing at Siquijor Airport on Monday, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

In a statement, the CAAP said the plane had just arrived from Mactan, Cebu when its nose landing gear deflated as it touched down on the airport runway.

“The aircraft deviated from the runway centerline and came to a stop on the runway. All passengers and crew are safe, and no injuries were reported,” the CAAP statement read.

Authorities said the incident is now "under assessment."

“We have activated the standard airport safety and recovery procedures. The incident is now under assessment in coordination with the airline and relevant aviation authorities,” CAAP Director General retired Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario said.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
