Nazareno 2026 preparations start in provinces

Preparations for the 2026 Feast of Jesus Nazareno are now underway in several provinces.

In Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, church workers have started fixing and preparing the replica of the image of Jesus Nazareno, according to a report on GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita on Tuesday.

The church has also been cleaned and readied to accommodate devotees expected to flock to the area.

Pahalik or the kissing of the Jesus Nazareno image and traslacion or the procession of the image will be included as part of the annual observance in Laoag.

Meanwhile, pahalik already started at the St. Joseph Cathedral in Balanga City, Bataan. 

Devotees were seen offering sampaguita, praying, and touching the image.

The pahalik in Balanga will continue until January 9. This will be followed by a procession.—Joviland Rita/AOL, GMA Integrated News
