Man steals delivery motorcycle in Laguna, gives parcels to kids
Police arrested a man after he stole a delivery motorcycle in Pangil, Laguna and gave some of the parcels to children.
According to John Consulta’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, CCTV footage showed that the suspect was following the delivery rider.
The suspect took the motorcycle after the victim disembarked and left for a delivery.
Authorities nabbed the 39-year-old suspect in a follow-up operation in Siniloan, Laguna.
They also recovered the motorcycle, but some parcels were missing.
Based on the investigation, the suspect gave the missing parcel to some children.
The suspect admitted to stealing the motorcycle, saying he did it out of poverty.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle rider said he will be the one shouldering the missing parcels by paying the delivery company the estimated P14,000 value of the lost goods.
Authorities discovered that the motorcycle the suspect initially used was also stolen.
He is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10883 for stealing both motorycles and theft for the missing parcels. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
