Over 23K devotees join Traslacion in Cagayan de Oro City

Over 23,000 devotees joined the local celebrations for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in Cagayan de Oro City on Friday.

The Traslacion began around 5 a.m. from the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral.

It arrived at the Jesus Nazareno Parish at 7:11 a.m.

Cagayan de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council - Incident Management Team Incident Commander Nick Jabagat said the count was higher compared to the participants recorded in 2025.

No untoward incidents were recorded.

The local celebration coincided with the Traslacion 2026 in Manila, which had gathered at least four million attendees as of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, according to the Manila Public Information Office.  —Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/LDF/VBL, GMA Integrated News
