8-year-old boy killed in alleged neighbor stabbing in San Pablo, Laguna
An eight-year-old boy was killed after he was fatally stabbed by an alleged neighbor in Barangay Santiago II in San Pablo, Laguna, authorities said.
In a report aired on Unang Balita on Monday, police said the victim sustained wounds to the ear, neck, and abdomen. One of the child’s hands was also severed, which investigators believe may have been used to block the attack.
An update aired on Balitanghali, reported by Chris Zuñiga of GMA Regional TV, said the child was on his way to school when the incident happened. The victim was found in Barangay Santiago II on Friday morning.
According to the Philippine National Police, a neighbor of the victim is being investigated in connection with the incident.
Authorities are looking into the angle that the attack may have stemmed from an alleged bullying incident involving the victim and the suspect’s child. Police said a person of interest has been identified and is now under investigation.
The family of the victim has appealed for justice and is urging anyone who may have witnessed the crime or has information related to the incident to report it to authorities as the investigation continues.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
