Police asset allegedly killed by girlfriend's stepbrothers in Cagayan de Oro

A police asset died after his girlfriend’s stepbrothers mauled and stabbed him repeatedly in Cagayan de Oro City, according to Cyril Chave’s Tuesday report on “24 Oras.”

A video showed the suspects repeatedly kicked the victim and stabbed him with a sharp object in Lower Tambo, Barangay Macasandig in Cagayan de Oro City.

The victim, who sustained 22 stab wounds, was brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

According to the police, the suspects invited the victim to borrow his motorcycle.

Authorities caught one of the three suspects during a hot pursuit operation. The 19-year-old arrested suspect will face murder charges.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the arrested suspect for comment.

Authorities are still searching for the other two suspects.

The police said the suspects at large allegedly have a quarrel with the victim. The victim reported to authorities that the suspect’s father was involved with illegal drugs, which led to his arrest.
