Man kills wife, son over chicken in Bukidnon

A 65-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly killed his wife and son over a chicken in Barangay Kiraon in Damulog, Bukidnon.  

According to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Cyril Chaves in “Saksi” on Wednesday, the suspect was drinking with some people when his son picked him up on Monday evening. 

When they arrived home, the two got into a heated argument after the son confronted his father about pitting their small chicken in a cockfight. 

“While he was beating his father, the father grabbed a hunting knife from the table and stabbed him in defense. The suspect stabbed his son in his stomach,” said PRO-10 spokesperson Police Major Gen. Joann Navarro. 

The wife tried to stop the suspect but she was also stabbed on the chest, the report said. 

The woman did not make it to the hospital, while the son eventually died hours later.

The suspect was immediately arrested and admitted to his crime. He is facing charges of parricide.  — Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
