WATCH: Sinulog 2026 Grand Parade is a festive homage to Sto. Niño


The Sinulog 2026 Grand Parade honoring the Sto. Niño de Cebu kicked off on Sunday morning at the Cebu City Sports Center.

 

The parade, an annual event eagerly awaited by the general public in Cebu City, followed Masses held at the Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino and the Cebu City Sports Complex.

 

Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Cebu Govenor Pamela Baricuatro officially declared the Grand Parade open.

 

Thousands of spectators positioned themselves along Osmeña Boulevard awaiting the delegations parading in colorful costumes.

 

 

Drumbeats set the mood on the bunting-filled parade route.

 

Giant puppets were also seen ready to join the parade.

 

Featured as guest performers is the delegation from Karansa Culture and the Arts of Danao City in Cebu.

 

Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak told Super Radyo dzBB in an interview on Sunday that there are 40 participating tribes and 36 competing contingents in the Grand Parade.

He added that Sinulog organizers aim to finish the parade by 7 p.m. —KG, GMA Integrated News
