PHIVOLCS logs 400 back-to-back earthquakes in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded 400 back-to-back earthquakes in a span of three days at Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat.

According to PHIVOLCS, the weak to moderate earthquakes were recorded between 10:52 p.m. on January 19 to 1:00 p.m. on January 21.

A total of 135 out of 400 earthquakes were plotted with magnitude ranging from 1.5 up to 5.2.

Meanwhile, 20 earthquakes were felt by the public and recorded with specific intensities.

magnitude 5.2 earthquake was recorded in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat early Tuesday morning, with an epicenter located 43 kilometers off the coast or south of Kalamansig with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Phivolcs reminded the public to remain vigilant and remember to duck, cover, and hold in case of an earthquake.
