A video showing a dog behaving politely while asking for food from a customer at an eatery in Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City captured the attention of netizens.

In the video taken by YouScooper Myoko Ocana, the dog is seen approaching a customer and seemingly asking for food politely by raising its paws.

According to witnesses, the dog waited patiently and behaved properly while its food was being prepared.

After receiving the food, it showed visible excitement and gratitude toward the person who fed it.

The GMA Regional TV One Mindanao team visited the area and spotted the dog roaming the streets in search for food.

It was seen approaching a house with a dog feeding station outside the gate before crossing to a nearby eatery, where it waited for customers to give food.

Later, the dog approached a customer and raised its paws, a gesture believed to signal that it was asking for food.

The customer, who is also a pet lover, gave the dog something to eat.

“Kuyaw kaayo sya mangayo kay dili parehas ubang iro na manungkab. Malingaw me sa iya tan-aw,” a customer, Gwen Advincula, said.

It was learned that among the dogs in the area, it is the only one that approaches customers.

According to an eatery staff member, the dog does not disturb them. Although they sometimes try to shoo it away, it often returns.

“Okay lang man, ginapakaon namo sya kay, ginakuwan (badlong) namo sya pero dili namo ginapasakit,” eatery staff member, Sheryl Kurit, said.

The City Veterinary Office reminded the public to exercise caution when feeding stray dogs.

“Basta ingana naa’y mangayo iro sa inyuha labi na kanang manguhit, pwede ra mo maghatag pero ayaw lang gyud itunol sa iyang baba mismo kay basi mapaakan mo ba,” a veterinarian, Kirby Signar, said. GMA Regional TV
