The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in the Southern Tagalog district responded to a fire alarm involving a yacht on the waters off Tingloy town in Batangas on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
The PCG received a report around 7:35 a.m. from Coast Guard Sea Marshal Unit-Southern Tagalog after observing smoke and fire from a motor yacht then initiated emergency response procedures.
"Initial information revealed that M/Y Allusive, together with its convoy vessel, M/Y Neptimus 3, departed Puerto Galera en route to Punta Fuego, Nasugbu, Batangas, to participate in a yacht sailing event," the PCG said in a statement.
"While underway, a fire broke out onboard M/Y Allusive, believed to have originated from the engine room due to a possible electrical failure, subject to further investigation."
Seven Filipino crew members abandoned the yacht and were evacuated with the assistance of M/Y Neptimus 3.
The M/Y Allusive was towed toward the shoreline and was assessed to pose no hazard to navigation.
Meanwhile, the rescued crew members were brought to the Batangas Port for medical assessment. No injuries were reported.
