A policewoman from Taguig City who was earlier reported missing has been found dead in Pulilan, Bulacan, according to the Southern Police District (SPD) on Wednesday.
The SPD said that 38-year-old Police Senior Master Sergeant Diane Marie Mollenido was found in a creek along the Pulilan-Baliuag Bypass Road in Barangay Dulong Malabon on January 24.
“Noong may post na po noong January 24 yung Pulilan na may found dead body. Tapos pinost nila na meron siyang markings. May post sila ng tattoo. Doon po na-identify,” SPD public information office chief Police Lieutenant Margaret Panaga told GMA News Online.
(When there was a post on January 24 about the Pulilan dead body being found, they posted that the body had markings. They posted a tattoo; that's how it was identified.)
According to Panaga, the family positively identified the body of the policewoman.
The victim was assigned to a police unit under the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), according to the SPD.
Missing
The policewoman was last seen on January 16 and was officially reported missing on January 19 by her husband, who is also a cop.
Based on the initial investigation, Panaga said Diane and her eight-year-old son went missing as they were set to meet an agent in Quezon City after selling a vehicle.
Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killing and have not named any possible suspects, as investigators are currently looking into individuals who were last seen with the victim.
“We earnestly pray that justice will be served, that the truth surrounding what transpired will be fully uncovered, and that righteousness will prevail,” the Police Outreach Ministry said in a statement.
As of posting, the victim’s 8-year-old son is still missing. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
