4 cars lined up for blessing in Manaoag church, damaged by a fallen tree

Four vehicles were accidentally hit by a fallen acacia tree in the blessing area of the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag on on Thursday afternoon, the Municipality of Manaoag posted.

The car owners parked near Gate 5 to have their vehicles blessed when the tree fell.

A commuter van and a newly purchased SUV sustained severe damaged while two SUVs sustained minor damage.

Manaoag police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office responded to the incident to check on the area and to conduct clearing operations.

Also present was Mayor Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario to assess the situation and to talk to the affected individuals.

Church officials from the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag got in touch with the car owners and pledged to extend assistance to the affected individuals.
