Loboc River water activities in Bohol suspended Friday due to Basyang

All water-related activities along the Loboc River in Bohol will be suspended on Friday, February 6, due to Tropical Depression Basyang, the Loboc Bohol Tourism Office announced on Wednesday.

The suspension includes the popular Loboc River Cruise, a floating restaurant offering Filipino cuisine accompanied by local music.

The tourism office said it will issue further advisories on the resumption of activities or a possible extension of the suspension, depending on weather conditions.

Based on PAGASA’s 5 p.m. weather bulletin, 11 areas in the Visayas and Mindanao have been placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

As of the latest bulletin, Basyang was last monitored 655 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center, with gusts of up to 70 kph, and was moving westward at 15 kph.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
