Camiguin Airport runway closed due to creek overflow
By TED CORDERO, GMA Integrated News
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Friday announced that the runway of Camiguin Airport is temporarily closed.
In an advisory, CAAP said the airport’s runway 07/25 is closed due flooding caused by the overflow of the adjacent creek, brought about by Tropical Storm Basyang.
With this, the airports regulator issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) effective from 9:52 a.m. on February 6, 2025 until 4:00 p.m. on February 7, 2025.
“As a result, Cebu Pacific flights DG6695 and DG6696 have been cancelled, affecting a total of 67 passengers,” it said.
CAAP advised passengers to coordinate with their respective airlines for updates on flight schedules and to prioritize safety in their travel plans. –VAL, GMA Integrated News
