Parts of Quezon, Bicol flooded due to rains from shear line

Some areas in Quezon Province and the Bicol Region got flooded on Sunday due to heavy rains from a shear line.

In Tagkawayan, Quezon, some barangay roads were rendered impassable.

Residents had to cross raging floodwaters in Barangay Mapulot. 

Floodwaters entered classrooms in some barangays.

In Gumaca, Quezon, heavy rains hampered visibility on the road.

A big tree fell on the Old Zigzag Road in Sitio Amao, Silangang Malicboy in the town of Pagbilao, blocking motorists' path.

Camarines Norte

Residents of Purok 4 in Barangay Tuaca in the town of Basud had to be evacuated as floodwaters reached neck-deep, barangay officials said.

In Labo town, a house was swept away by floodwaters into the river. Rescuers said they saw some items inside the house but no one was inside.

 

Part of Maharlika Highway in Sitio Namukanan in Barangay Daguit in the town of Labo became impassable due to flooding, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bicol said.

In Barangay Bulala in the town of Sta. Elena, part of Maharlika Highway was obstructed by soil washed out by the rains.

Catanduanes

Meanwhile, in Caramoran, Catanduanes, flooding affected Barangay Sabangan.

 

PAGASA said some areas in Luzon will have scattered rains and thunderstorms on Sunday due to the shear line and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

Around 50 to 100 mm of rainfall are to be expected over Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Oriental Mindoro from Sunday to Monday noon, PAGASA said.
