7 candidates to bid for Antipolo district House seat —Comelec

Seven bets filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for the March 14 special elections in the second district of Antipolo City, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

The period for the filing of COCs for the special elections for the House seat vacated following the passing of Antipolo City 2nd District Representative Romeo Acop last December ran from February 5 to February 7, 2026.

According to the Comelec, the following candidates filed their COCs:

  • Dandin Infante
  • Reden Llaga
  • Lorenzo Sumulong III
  • Ma. Trinidad Galang
  • Philip Conrad Acop
  • Nathaniel Lobigas
  • Irvin Paulo Tapales

 

Sumulong and Tapales are incumbent city councilors. During the May 2025 elections, Sumulong ranked first with 98,048 votes while Tapales was eighth with 85,271 votes.

The Comelec has set the campaign period for the vacant House seat from February 12 to March 12. The elections period, meanwhile, will start from February 12 until March 29, 2026.
