Father finds his three kids bloodied at home in Negros; one dead

A father found his three children covered in blood inside their home in Silay City, Negros Occidental, with the eldest later dying from her injuries at the hospital.

According to Adrian Prietos’ report on "24 Oras" on Monday, the children’s father, Edmund Bornales, said he became alarmed by the unusual silence when he arrived home.

Upon discovering his children, Bornales sought help from neighbors to rush them to the hospital. However, his 15-year-old daughter, Jezebel, later succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, Jezebel’s siblings—nine-year-old Desiree and four-year-old Charles—remain in critical condition.

At the time of the incident, the children were alone at home. Their father was working at a sugarcane farm, while their mother is an overseas Filipino worker in the Middle East.

Neighbors said they did not hear anything unusual during the incident, noting that heavy rain was falling at the time.

Police investigators said two large rocks believed to have been used in the attack were recovered from the crime scene.

The victims’ family is seeking justice as authorities continue their investigation. Police said they have identified persons of interest but declined to provide further details.

Authorities also said the two female victims tested negative for sexual abuse.

The children’s mother has since arrived in the Philippines but declined to comment on the incident.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/MCG, GMA Integrated News
