DHSUD: 7K families to benefit from GenSan housing project under Expanded 4PH

DHSUD: 7k families to benefit from GenSan housing under Expanded 4PH

Over 7,000 families are expected to benefit from a socialized housing project under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program in General Santos City, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said on Tuesday.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling inspected the first batch of house and lot units at the Deca Homes Gensan 2, which will be ready for turnover by March this year.

“This project in General Santos City demonstrates that the Expanded 4PH Program is not limited to urban centers in Luzon. We are building communities where Filipino families can thrive, live with dignity, security and fresh hope as directed by President Marcos Jr.,” he said in a statement.

“By delivering socialized housing at a subsidized rate, we make home ownership attainable for the working class – from the minimum wage earners and low-income families. This is inclusive growth translated into real homes as envisioned by our President,” Aliling added.

Developed by Deca Homes, the Deca Homes Gensan 2 in Barangay Apopong, General Santos City will have 7,430 house and lot units.

The development is spread over 498,600 square meters and will feature open spaces, parks, and community facilities.

The socialized housing units will be offered under the Pag-IBIG Fund’s subsidized home loan to make home ownership more accessible to Filipino families.

Aliling said the socialized housing project is proof of the DHSUD’s commitment to expand the 4PH Program beyond metropolitan hubs and bring dignified and secure housing to other parts of the country.

(This is in line with President Marcos Jr.’s directive for a more inclusive housing program especially for the working class. Under the Expanded 4PH, there are modalities for all, from the working class to the informal sectors. We are not just expanding the coverage for beneficiaries, but the areas where we have projects – in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. You can expect that we will have more projects like this in the coming months.)

“Malinaw ang ating layunin, ang mabigyan ng maayos, ligtas, at disenteng tirahan ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino. Sa pamamagitan ng Expanded 4PH, binibigyan natin ng tunay na pagkakataon ang ating mga kababayan na magkaroon ng dignidad na pamumuhay,” he added.

(Our goal is clear – to provide each Filipino people with safe, decent, homes. Through the Expanded 4PH, we are giving our countrymen a real chance at having a dignified way of life.) — JMA, GMA Integrated News
