2 bullying incidents involving young girls in Cagayan de Oro caught on cam

Two separate incidents of bullying involving young female students in Cagayan de Oro City have gone viral on social media and caught the attention of authorities, who summoned the victims, the alleged perpetrators, and their parents.

This was according to the report of GMA Regional TV’s Sarah Hilomen-Velasco on “24 Oras” on Thursday.

In one video, a female student was seen pulling the hair of another female student and slapping her, while uttering hurtful words against the victim.

The incident allegedly happened inside the restroom of an establishment near the girls’ school.

The victim’s sister uploaded the video on social media in an attempt to seek justice for her sibling.

Dr. Melende Catid, school head of the Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School, said they are investigating the incident involving their students. She stressed that the incident did not happen within the school premises.

“They (the parents of both parties) have been given an invitation by the respective advisers and also the guidance counselor and also my grievance committee also,” Catid said.

A video of another incident showed a female student in uniform who was being ganged up on by other girls in Barangay Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City.

The other girls were heard taunting the victim while pulling her hair. The victim eventually fell down, prompting the other girls to run away.

The council of Barangay Lapasan said it has summoned the victim and the other girls in the video, their respective parents, and the school officials.

“Maybe the victim or the suspects in the bullying incident might have some issue at home, like abused by their parents. That’s why the captain summoned them, the BCPC, VAWC, our barangay executive support, and Legal Affairs Office,” said Jeoffrey Baconga, spokesperson of Barangay Lapasan, in the vernacular.
