Wife of suspect in septic tank killing cries frame-up

The wife of one of the suspects behind the murder of a policeman, whose body was found inside a septic tank, claimed that her husband was the victim of a frame-up.

According to a report in “24 Oras” on Wednesday, Mikee Camille Abalos also claimed her husband, Police Corporal Vivencio Abalos, was only dragged in the case in an attempt to cover up for other cops involved in illegal drugs that could be related with the killing of Police Staff Sergeant Renato Casauay in Malolos CIty, Bulacan.

“NAPOLCOM, DILG, lahat po ng may hawak sa PNP, suriin po nila lahat ng pulis, kung sino po talaga ang may involvement diyan,” said Mikee.

(The National Police Commission, Department of Interior and Local Government, and everyone in charge of the Philippine National Police—they should investigate all the police officers to find out who really has any involvement in this.)

A witness has signed an affidavit to clarify that there was no direct conversation between the gunman and Abalos regarding the latter's alleged role in the crime.

The gunman also allegedly did not tell the witness the name of the police officer he killed.

To recall, the PNP earlier said the gunman reported to Abalos to confess the crime he committed.

However, Abalos allegedly failed to report this to his superiors, which is why he was included in the case as an accessory. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
