4 minors, 6 others rescued from sexual exploitation in Laguna

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) rescued 10 women, of whom four are minors, from sexual exploitation at a resort in Laguna.

According to John Consulta’s exclusive report on “24 Oras” on Thursday, a team from NBI Calabarzon arrested the male suspect for bringing women to the NBI undercover agents.

The NBI conducted surveillance for several weeks to document the suspect’s moves.

“He is recruiting women in Laguna and offering their sexual services to his customers, who are willing to pay P3,000 for each victim and he is posting the picture of his victims online through Facebook,” NBI CALABRAZON regional director Janet Rancisco said.

Four of the 10 victims were minors who had allegedly been repeatedly subjected to sex trafficking by the suspect.

The suspect has yet to comment on the matter. He is detained at the NBI Calabarzon office for charges without bail.

“We brought him for inquest for violation of (Republic Act) 9208 as amended in relation to RA 10175 and also for violation of RA 7610,” Rancisco said.

According to the International Justice Mission, as of September 2024, over 1,300 victims have been rescued in the Philippines, 410 suspectswere arrested, and 240 have been convicted.
