Female student mauled by schoolmates in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur


The local government of Narvacan in Ilocos Sur and the Department of Education (DepEd) launched an investigation into the incident involving a female student, who was mauled by her schoolmates.

According to CJ Torida’s Monday report on “Saksi,” a video showed several students taking turns in kicking and punching the victim and no one stopped them from doing so. The student can be seen crying and visiby hurt by the blows.

Based on the initial investigation, the incident took place during their lunch break.

Narvacan Mayor Edna Sanidad said the incident is not only a school issue, but also affects the community.

She urged parents and teachers to provide guidance to the children.

The DepED Ilocos Sur also deployed a guidance counselor for the involved students as well as initiated a probe into the cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, the learner protection team is implementing appropriate interventions for the involved students.

With the help of the Department of Social Welfare and Protection, the whole class will undergo guidance counseling.
