2 Palawan leopard kittens rescued in Roxas

Two Palawan leopard kittens, also known as “tamaral” or “maral”, were rescued in the Municipality of Roxas.

The two young animals, measuring eight and seven inches long has already been turned over to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, in coordination with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

The kittens were discovered after a resident heard their pet dog barking at something last February 21.

“Nang puntahan nila ito ay nakita nilang tinatahulan nito ang isang adult na Tamaral. Pagkatapos nito, napag-alaman nilang mayroong dalawang kuting sa gilid kaya’t agad nilang kinuha ang mga ito upang masecure mula sa posibleng pagkagat ng aso. Agad nilang pinagbigay alam ang insidente sa Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD),” said MENRO in a statement.

(When they went to check, they saw it barking at an adult Tamaral. Afterward, they discovered two kittens nearby and immediately took them to secure them from potential dog bites. They promptly reported the incident to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development.)
