Teacher, mother arrested in separate ops for alleged sexual abuse
Authorities arrested a teacher and a mother in two separate operations conducted in Leyte and in Cavite for alleged sexual abuse of minors.
According to Jun Veneracion’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” the Philippine National Police’s Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) served a warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data in the teacher's house in Indang, Cavite.
Authorities found electronic gadgets containing 32 indecent videos of the teacher and six junior high school students.
The alleged sexual abuse reportedly took place at the teacher’s house after classes. He allegedly gave the students P100 up to P300 per act.
The WCPC conducted the operation after videos of the teacher with the alleged student victims surfaced online.
The teacher is facing charges in violation of the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act.
GMA Integrated News is seeking comment from the teacher.
In Abuyog, Leyte, the WCPC arrested a woman for alleged sexual abuse involving her three children and four other relatives, all of whom are minors.
The alleged buyer of the video was allegedly a Norwegian citizen living outside the Philippines.
The mother has yet to comment on the matter. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
