Rider, passenger hurt in acid attack in Cagayan de Oro

A motorcycle rider and his passenger sustained chemical burns due to an alleged acid attack in Cagayan de Oro.

According to GMA Regional TV James Paolo Yap’s Thursday report on “24 Oras,” the rider’s jacket was seen smoking, while the female passenger was covered with a towel after a riding-in-tandem allegedly doused them with a chemical.

Parts of the victims’ faces and bodies were burned.

Citing the narration of the victims, the police said the riding in tandem was overtaking the victim’s motorcycle when the incident occurred.

The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office said they did not receive any report of the incident and just monitored the incident on social media.

The Carmen police were directed to investigate the incident, as the victims are scheduled to go to their office.

GMA Regional TV is seeking comments from the victims.

The Cagayan de Oro City Police Office said mobile patrols are deployed in several areas, especially at night.
