The Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office on Thursday said four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of two people whose burned bodies were found inside a torched car in Peñaranda.
In a statement, the Nueva Ecija Police said the suspects were nabbed in a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Siempre Viva Sur in Mallig, Isabela Wednesday.
On Monday, a red car was found razed in front of a farm in Barangay Sinasajan, Peñaranda. Two charred cadavers of a man and a woman were found inside the vehicle.
They were later identified as Michael Odchigue and Regine Espinosa.
Police said the suspects were tracked down through continuous intelligence operations, backtracking, and review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.
Nueva Ecija Police director Police Colonel Ritchie Claravall commended the police units for their swift action in arresting the suspects.
The suspects are now under the custody of the Peñaranda Municipal Police Station as a criminal complaint for murder will be filed against them.
Police said one of the angles being considered in the investigation is a possible connection to business. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
