Sleeping 3-year-old girl killed in Guimbal, Iloilo fire

A sleeping three-year-old girl was killed in a fire in Guimbal, Iloilo.

In a report on “Saksi” on Thursday, the victim’s mother left her sleeping inside a room on the second floor of their home. The mother left to attend a meeting of the barangay.

The girl’s grandmother was on the first floor of the house and heard the girl’s cries when the fire broke out.

The grandmother was unable to help her granddaughter as the fire quickly spread throughout the house and to three nearby houses, leaving behind P2 million in damages.

Investigators are looking at an overheated electric fan as the cause of the blaze.

The families affected by the fire are temporarily staying at the barangay hall. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
